Background
Corrosion, wear and tear, and contamination play havoc with precision-cutting equipment, machinery, and components. Thin Films develops proprietary thin films for protective coatings. Thin films are used to coat mechanical parts in clean rooms in order to reduce contamination, to reduce wear and tear, and to prevent corrosion.
Technology These films can coat a range of substrates such as alumna, silica, and other oxides and nitrides. The technology developed by Thin Films provides an amorphous coating that serves as good protection against mechanical wear and corrosion.
